At Cheshire Dental Centre we understand that dental pain can have a real effect on every area of life, so we pride ourselves on being able to help anyone who needs a same-day appointment, whether you are a new or existing patient. Whether or not your symptoms point to a dental emergency, you should contact a dentist for advice.

If you have uncontrollable bleeding from the mouth, a mouth abscess or infection, or a knocked-out tooth, contact us straight away on 01270 256426 — these need to be seen as soon as possible.
Is it a dental emergency?
If you are in any doubt, call the practice and we will advise. As a rough guide:
- Bleeding from the mouth — If uncontrollable, we treat this as an emergency and assign a dentist as soon as possible.
- Infection — An abscess in the mouth is extremely serious and needs to be examined as soon as possible.
- Knocked-out tooth — Booking an appointment as close to the incident as possible can help avoid permanent tooth loss.
- Cracked or chipped tooth — Not a dental emergency, unless sharp fragments remain in your mouth or you are in severe pain.
- Toothache — Can wait for a general dental appointment when it is not causing severe pain.
- Missing crown or filling — Not considered a dental emergency, though your dentist may still see you as a priority.
